Friendly, efficient team. Comms was minimal but they turned up as agreed when booked :) Only complaint is that their truck needs engin maintenance - the pollution it emits is excessive and not commendable in this day and age. The movers were well aware of it saying they always receive complaints about it - I hope the owner catches on and does the right thing soon!

The owner actually already caught on years ago and runs a Hybrid truck, photos on our profile, as well as an electric van, and owns a couple of Prius as well, but due to the size of your job we had to send the truck your not happy with.
What's really odd, is that truck uses 4.2 liters less fuel, per 100km driving then our Hybrid truck, and it holds 22m3 compared to Hybrid trucks 12m3.
So, yes we could have sent our Hybrid truck to your job and done two loads, but the excessive polluting truck you mention may not look pretty, but is actually using much less fuel, and therefore less emissions and pollution.
Whilst Hybrids are a great idea, and I have been trying to buy another, they aren't so good overall, the battery packs need replacing every 200,000km or less of driving, which is expensive and has a lot of toxic rare earth metals.
We actually are more efficient using that excessive polluting truck, as we can do 1 load instead of 2, we use 4.2 liters per 100km less fuel, and we easily do 40,000km every 6 months so that is a huge amount of fuel, not to mention no rare earth metal filled battery pack to replace every 2 years or so.
I wish there was a sustainable, economical, electric or hybrid truck I could buy to replace that truck, I've even been learning how to repair and service Hybrids, as well as recycling scooter battery packs to build off grid solar storage banks and learning how to build or add an electric assist system into non Hybrid diesel trucks to help with that goal.
Sorry, I almost forgot, the owner, myself, is also a member of the Auckand EV owners club.
We meet every Thursday night if you wish to come and join the discussion about trucks or EV or Hybrid or battery packs.
