Did the job needed.
The mover tried to use 2 guys and then tried to charge an extra $50 for the second guy and requested cash as payment noting they had no payment facility on board.
It’s a fixed cost as noted at the time.
I also noted the driver and the worker arguing which isn’t a great look.
It also meant I needed to go to the cash machine which was an inconvenience.
If you can also provide an invoice thanks for the work.
Other than that they were careful and did a good job.

Hi Jeremy,

I can confirm that your booking was for 1 man + truck. However, because we had other jobs scheduled that day, we arrived with 2 movers + truck at no additional charge initially.

At the pickup location, both movers assisted with the loading, and you did not need to help during that stage. At the delivery location, we encountered difficult access with many stairs and narrow spaces. We became concerned about your health and safety risks involved with lifting heavy furniture through that access, especially for you our customer to be lifting in such environment.

Out of concern and to help make the move easier for you, we offered the option of additional assistance for the delivery portion, which was the more physically demanding part of the move. This was not intended to cause any issue, but rather to assist in a difficult situation we only became fully aware of on arrival.

Regarding payment, the booking confirmation states: “Payment method: cash/bank transfer. Payment timeframe: at delivery.” For that reason, requesting payment at delivery was in line with the booking terms.

We understand that moving can be stressful, and people are often dealing with different personal circumstances during a move. Our intention was to complete the move safely and assist where we could. Thank you.

The movers didn’t show up at the time booked and it took me chasing them for them to let us know they wouldn’t be able to move us until later in the day. They couldn’t confirm the time, so we were waiting until 3pm. They also overcharged us as they wouldn’t accept bank deposit even though that said it was an option on the website and didn’t give me change when paying with cash. They refused to move our beds up stairs so we had to do that ourselves, they also scratched our washing machine and damaged one of our dining chairs. I tried to resolve this directly with them but they stopped replying to my emails (they agreed to refund me the overcharge but never did)

While the communication, promptness and, cost effectiveness of moving my bed and headboard was good, unfortunately there were some issues with how some accidental damage was dealt with.

One of the delivery people knocked a light fitting off the wall, which was accidental. The communication about how a new one would be installed was completely lacking, and not much responsibility was shown. I had to chase him up and when I quoted a replacement he accused me of trying to rip him off and told me I should tell the landlord that the damage was not damage but "depreciation". I eventually settled with him on $40 after finding a cheaper light. There was no offer to come and help me fix it. I had to source the light myself and organise its installation.

I think this carrier needs to reassess how they deal with mistakes like this, as they will happen again. Yes damage is expensive but you must take responsibility and not just hope I would forget. Poor service.

DO NOT USE! We have never had such shocking service.

They rang on Friday afternoon and gave us 10mins notice that they were coming. They collected the fridge, then rang and told me we had to pay $300, not the agreed $215.
They said that we were supposed to have cash on pick up (it doesn’t say that on the Wise agreement, nor did they mention it when they rang- 10mins notice would have made this impossible anyway). They said it was because we didn't have cash and they had to take the fridge half way down our driveway to load it. Even though I was clear on the Wise Move notes that this was a possibility if they chose to bring a large truck. They didn't even bring a trolley to take it down the driveway, two of them carried it.

For the next 2 hours they refused to deliver the fridge unless we paid them more. They turned their tracking on and off so we couldn't see where they were. They said we had to show proof of payment before they would deliver it (even though their Wise confirmation said payment on delivery).

It was terrible!! In the end (after honestly harrassing messages from them) my husband left a work dinner and rang them, and after back and forth agreed to pay them an extra $25, otherwise they said they would bring it back to Wellington.

They then cancelled our booking so we couldn't leave a review (Wise Moves has opened this so I can). I contacted Mover Adbell directly with screenshots of all the back and forth, they apologised and offered to refund the $25 (I haven't received it yet). PLEASE DO NOT USE!

They called me at 8.30am Saturday telling me they were 10min away when we hadn’t even arranged a time yet. They left one of my computers in their van and said they would get it to me at end of the day but didn’t. The guy who took the majority of the stuff from my room was nice though. However he said they could take whatever even if it wasn’t on the list but the guy driving got annoyed, so miscommunication between the two
