The Tron may only be an hour and a half drive from Auckland, but the city has certainly come
into its own in recent years as a hub for a variety of industries and big businesses, in particular the agricultural sector.
Perhaps what also makes Hamilton such a great place to live is that it is so central to, well, everywhere.
The Coromandel is just up the road, the world famous surf beaches of Raglan are less than 40 minutes west,
and the snow fields of Mt Ruapehu are less than three hours south.
But staying put is just as enjoyable - from a plethora of parks (mostly notably - Hamilton Gardens) to
year-round sporting events at Seddon Park and FMG Stadium, the CBD provides foodies and shopaholics
with plenty of retailers and restaurants to choose from.
With more than 170,000 people calling Hamilton home, there’s no going past everything that this
family-friendly city has to offer - from the serious stuff like education and business, to the fun stuff, like leisure and recreation.
