Gosh, Tauranga sure is a lovely place to live. There’s all that sunshine
and warm weather, beautiful Mt Maunganui just down the road, and heaps of other cool stuff
to do too. But it’s the beachside lifestyle that calls most people home here, with more
than 150,000 people living on the doorstep of some of the country’s most picturesque white sand beaches.
As the fifth most populated city of New Zealand, Tauranga has experienced rapid growth over the past 10 years,
and with this has come numerous new housing developments, retail centres and roading infrastructure.
But somehow, it has still retained that relaxed, beach-side vibe, where going barefoot to the supermarket is
totally acceptable, especially when it's to grab some ice creams for the kids.
Tauranga has one of the country’s largest ports and watching the cargo ships arriving and leaving is a
great thrill for young and old. And with so many people flocking to the seaside city, the economy is
buzzing - jobs are aplenty, especially in the hospitality and construction sector.
