INSURANCE
Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 – Limited Carrier’s Risk
Under the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, Aotearoa Auto Haulage operates under Limited Carrier’s Risk. Unless damage is caused by our negligence or fault, we are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, mechanical failure, or contents left inside the vehicle while it is in transit, parked, stored, or otherwise in our care.
In the unlikely event that Aotearoa Auto Haulage is found liable for damage caused by our negligence, our insurance cover is limited to a maximum of $2,000 (including GST) per vehicle.
Customers are strongly advised to maintain comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and confirm that their policy includes cover for vehicles “in transit between places in New Zealand” when transported by a licensed vehicle transport operator.
VEHICLE CONTENTS
Any personal belongings left inside the vehicle are transported entirely at the owner’s risk. Aotearoa Auto Haulage accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to any items left in the vehicle.
BOOKING CONFIRMATION
Please allow 48–72 hours for us to contact you after accepting our quote. This allows us time to organise our transport runs and make every effort to accommodate your requested pickup and delivery dates.
While we will always try to meet your preferred dates, bookings may need to be scheduled on the next available transport run depending on route availability, ferry availability, and operational requirements.
FERRY BOOKINGS
Where a ferry crossing is required and has been booked on behalf of the customer, any cancellation by the customer after the booking has been made will result in the customer being liable for the full ferry costs incurred.
Pickup and delivery timeframes are subject to ferry availability, weather conditions, sailing schedules, and circumstances beyond our control.
DELIVERY TIMEFRAMES
While we pride ourselves on delivering most vehicles within 4–5 days of pickup, all delivery timeframes provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Transport schedules may be affected by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to ferry availability, adverse weather conditions, mechanical breakdowns, road closures, traffic disruptions, driver logbook requirements, compliance obligations, and other operational delays.
Customers should allow up to 10–12 days from the pickup date for delivery before a shipment is considered delayed. Aotearoa Auto Haulage will not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, although we will keep customers informed of any significant changes to delivery schedules.
VEHICLE CONDITION
Vehicles presented for transport must be in a safe and roadworthy condition unless otherwise disclosed and agreed upon prior to transport. Aotearoa Auto Haulage is not responsible for any pre-existing mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, braking, or transmission issues that may become apparent before, during, or after transport.
PAYMENTS
Full payment must be received on or before the scheduled pickup date. No other payment terms are available unless agreed to in writing by Aotearoa Auto Haulage.
We currently accept payment by bank transfer only.
Failure to make payment by the pickup date may result in cancellation, postponement, or refusal of transport services.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accepting a quote on Wise Move, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
