Hi!
We look forward to the oppotunity to work with you on your move. Here are our most frequently asked questions.
For any other questions and terms of trade please review our profile on this website.
1 - Do you provide insurance?
While our prices dont include insurance, we can organise this on your behalf. Our maximum liability is $500 per job under "limited carriers risk". We recommend talking to your provider. Depending on your policy, you may already be covered.
2 - When will my movers arrive?
If your job is booked with us, we generally provide a morning (9-11am window for arrival) or and afternoon (1-3pm) slot.
3 - How long will my delivery take?
Generally once loaded it will take a varying amount of time depending on destination, as we often load multiple jobs in a single large unit.
Metro - Same day
Regional (3 hour max driving) overnight
North Island to North Island/South Island to South Island locations - 36-48 hours
Inter-Island relocations - 4-7days as per ferry scheduling allows.
***Please note that our larger house moves have priority as they allow us to quote smaller jobs competitively. Sometimes this may result in smaller jobs being bumped due to capacity constraints if volume is misreported.***
4- Does my quote include packing and wrapping items?
No. We strictly take items as presented and while we use blankets to protect items, it is recommended anything that can be marked or scratched be covered, wrapped, or prepared for transit.
If you would like us to do this for you, please enquire about our packing service.
5- I think I have more items than I originally listed, will this affect my quote?
If you require more capacity that your Wise Move estimate it is recommended you contact us immediately and ideally prior to job commencing. The last thing we want to do is show up with out sufficient space to do your job. If your volume is exceed than we would look to amend your invoice according the cubic capacity quoted for against the actual capacity. Our stackers want to fit as much in as the space allows however realisitically not all things stack and pack well for transport. If in doubt please contact us.
6- Ive booked a quote to transport a boat trailer. How does this work?
Please note all boats are towed behind a furniture truck. This is how we keep our prices competitive. They must be roadworthy, legal, and fit for transport. they must be insured, or have had arrangements for us to organise insurance for you. We WONT tow an uninsured boat, and as standard terms, our maximum liability is $500 per job.
Please also note any mechanical issues that arise during the trip are the responsibility of the owner. Should we be delayed due to mechanical breakdowns for more than 12 hours we consider the job completed in full and another trip will need to be booked.
7- I have booked a car for transport. How does this work?
We have one car transporter that delivers cars whilst delivering furniture. The cars we cart must be able to be driven for loading and unloading purposes. Please note our maximum liability of $500 per car applies. We are happy to arrange insurance for you should you require.
8 - If something is damaged in transit. What happens?
Firstly - we hope this never happens. Our staff are experienced and take due care. In the case of any disputes, we need to be notified within 72 hours of delivery.
From there we would discuss a settlement up to a maximum of $500. This is inline with our obligations under the Carriage of Goods Act 2015, Contract and Commercial Law Act and Consumer Guarantees Act. Disputes outside of that window mean we would be unable to ascertain who was liable and as such would unable to determine a resolution.
9 - How do I pay for this? Do I need a pay a deposit?
We only require a deposit on any job vauled at more that $2000. This is non refundable, with the only exception being if we are unable to complete the job.

Darren was great! He was super polite and treated my items with care. He provided great communication and worked with me to determine pick-up and drop-off times that worked with me.
Although it was a speedy drop off, Darren politely took over the conversation with my neighbours when confronted about the truck. I really appreciated...
