1. Insurance & Liability
We operate under the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 (Limited Carrier's Risk).
Liability Limits: Under this Act, Haul of Duty Transport is not liable for accidental damage, theft, or the loss of vehicle contents while the vehicle is in transit, parked, or stored.
Carrier Coverage: In the unlikely event that damage occurs due to proven carrier fault, our liability is strictly limited to a maximum of $2,000 (inclusive of GST) per transit.
Our Recommendation: We strongly advise all clients to maintain comprehensive vehicle insurance. Please ensure your policy explicitly extends to cover your vehicle while "in transit between places in New Zealand" via a professional transport provider holding a valid Transport Service Licence (TSL).
2. Cook Strait Ferry Bookings
Inter-island transport relies heavily on third-party ferry schedules, which are subject to high demand and weather conditions.
Cancellations: Once a ferry sailing has been booked for your vehicle, any subsequent cancellation by the customer will result in the customer being liable for the full cost of the ferry ticket.
Scheduling: Pickup and delivery windows are estimates and may shift based on ferry availability and sailing disruptions due to adverse weather.
3. Payment Terms
To ensure a smooth transit schedule, we enforce strict payment timelines.
Timing: Full payment must be cleared on or before the scheduled pickup date. We do not offer extended credit terms.
Payment Method: At this time, we accept payment via Bank Transfer only.
